Why does the VR image freeze or lag permanently when I try to cast/transmit BodyMap or AcuMap to a computer screen or projector?

  • Symptom: The application runs perfectly inside the headset, but when attempting to cast the screen to a computer, TV, or projector for classroom viewing, the transmitted image freezes permanently.
  • Root Cause: Casting/transmission is a native Meta Quest OS and hardware-level feature, not an in-app function of BodyMap or AcuMap. Freezing is almost always caused by local Wi-Fi network congestion, firewall blocks, or Meta's casting server limitations.
  • Resolution Steps:
    1. Optimize Wi-Fi Network: Ensure both the headset and the receiving device are on the same high-speed Wi-Fi network (5GHz band is highly recommended). Reduce network congestion from other devices.
    2. Follow Meta's Official Casting Guidelines: Use Meta's official casting portal (oculus.com/casting) via a Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser on the receiving computer.
    3. Contact Meta Support: Because this is an OS-level feature, MAI cannot directly troubleshoot casting freezes. If the issue persists across other VR apps, please submit a technical support ticket directly to Meta Quest Support.
